Fantastic golfing opportunities abound nearby. Terre Blanche has two high class courses, one of which hosts an annual European seniors tour event, and is less than two miles from the La-Negronne

Further afield you will find a wide selection of courses, ranging from extremely scenic mountain courses such as Chateaux de Taulane and Claux Amic to those on the coast, including Cannes Old course and Royal Mougins

Created in 1966 to provide hydro electric power Lac St Cassien is a fabulous local leisure resource. Covering 420 hectares there are many secluded and busy beaches for picnics and swimming as well as restaurants and places to rent pedalos, wind surfers and paddle boards.

It is also a well known fishery with many anglers visiting to test their skills against the resident trophy fish

In addition to fantastic local cycling there are many wonderful walks to explore. Whether you choose to test your fitness in the hills or take a gentle stroll by the lake you will be guaranteed beautiful scenery.

We use a website called ViewRanger to discover new walks or you can always check with the local tourist offices.

You can reach the beach at Cannes Mandelieu in just 30 minutes or explore beaches further up and down the coast. There are beach clubs along the coast where you can hire a lounger for the day or there are also a number of free beaches where you can make your own spot, although these will be crowded in the summer.

St Tropez is also worth a visit but traffic can be bad in the summer. An option to miss the worst traffic is drive to Saint Maxime then take the ferry across the harbour to St Tropez.

Castellane is the local centre for Rafting and Kayaking. Sitting on the banks for the Verdon River it is the start point for a number of companies who operate Rafting and Kayaking trips down the river in the summer. It's a fun day for the whole family, exciting enough to get the adrenaline levels up and on a hot summers day a cooling dip in the river can be very welcome!

Toulon is just 75 minutes from the house making it easily accessible for a day trip. Lunch on the harbour before heading to the ground for some sun drenched rugby is a wonderful day trip for rugby supporters
